Ukrainian developer IKKOSAMA has released a demo version of Broken Life on Steam, which is inspired by the brutal reality because it was made in Ukraine. Here are all the details we know about the project.

Here's What We Know

Broken Life is an atmospheric, fully-voiced point-and-click adventure game set in a world consumed by war.

The story centres on Leo the cat, a former soldier who returns to his recently de-occupied hometown. Leo's story is full of loneliness and exhaustion after the years of war. In the course of the game, the player will try to help the protagonist so that he can rebuild his home and destroyed life, cope with grief and reunite with his daughter.

The game's gameplay is not linear, and the player's decisions will influence the development of the story. And most often, you will have to solve puzzles in the game.

Visuals also play an important role. The environment is filled with memories of a past life that will not return. Instead, Leo observes the numerous destructions that his hometown has suffered during the long occupation.

The visuals are based on his own vision and actual observation, as well as numerous photographs and videos of destroyed and devastated cities.

Broken Life also has full voice acting - at the time of release, all dialogues and cut-scenes will be dubbed for each of the 16 supported languages. Artificial intelligence technologies are used for this purpose. This decision was made by the author to make the game more accessible to people with poor eyesight or who cannot read texts for a long time. The AI voice function is optional, and players can disable it in the settings.
