Siri interaction, voice isolation and personalised spatial audio: Apple unveils new features for AirPods

Apple announced new features for AirPods owners at WWDC 2024.

Here's What We Know

The first new feature is Siri Interactions. Using head gestures, 2nd generation AirPods Pro users will be able to give commands to Siri. For example, if you get a phone call, you can shake your head "no" if you don't want to answer or nod to accept the call. Interactions with Siri can be used to respond to incoming messages, calls, and notifications.

The next innovation is Voice Isolation. The new feature will reduce loud background sounds and make it easier to hear audio during calls. Apple also announced Personalised Spatial Audio technology in games for AirPods 3, AirPods Pro and AirPods Max.

When We Can Expect It

The new features in AirPods will arrive with the release of iOS 18 this autumn.
