It's a failure: Ubisoft's new online action game BattleCore Arena attracted 124 people - that was the peak online in its first week
Recently Ubisoft made another attempt to gain a foothold in the market of free-to-play online games and released a dynamic action game BattleCore Arena.
Here's What We Know
A few years ago there was already a similar game, but Ubisoft closed it due to lack of demand.
In early June, Ubisoft Bordeaux studio released an updated version of BattleCore Arena into early access and tried to bring it to attention at Ubisoft Forward, but unfortunately, the game's reincarnation proved pointless.
On Steam, Battlecore Arena's online peak for the week was 124 people, with the best result in the last 24 hours being 48 people.
The situation is hardly better on the less popular Ubisoft Connect service, so it can be stated: Battlecore Arena is a failure! The game will probably suffer the fate of its predecessor - closure and oblivion.
Gamers, game analysts and even Ubisoft employees have repeatedly emphasised that the company needs to stop chasing fleeting and often outdated trends, and the Battlecore Arena story is the best proof of that.
