Apple Watch with watchOS 11 will get personalised ringtones and notification sounds
With the release of watchOS 11, Apple Watch users are now able to personalise their devices. In addition to health and fitness improvements, new watch faces, and other features, the update allows users to change the default ringtone and notification sounds.
Here's What We Know
Previously, Apple Watch users were limited to the default ringtone. With watchOS 11, there are now eight different ringtones to choose from, including the previous ringtones for the GPS and Cellular models. They include:
- Pebbles (Cellular ringtone)
- Focus
- Jingle (original ringtone)
- Nighthawk
- Transmit
- Twirl
- Windup
- Wonder
Apple Watch owners can also customise notification sounds for text messages, email, calendar, reminders, and other events. Available options include:
- Resonate
- Brilliant
- Cheer
- Flutter
- Globe
- Moment
- Scoop
- Timekeeper
- Tinker.
While it's still not possible to set your own ringtones or download them from the iTunes Store, the ability to choose from a variety of ringtones and notification sounds is a significant step forward in personalising your Apple Watch.
The watchOS 11 update is expected this autumn.
