Microsoft has started rolling out a new feature for Windows 11 that allows users to control Android devices directly from the Start menu.

Here's What We Know

The feature is currently only available to users of Windows 11 Insider Preview build 22635.3790 and later, requires the Phone Link app version 1.24052.124.0 or later, and will be gradually rolled out to all users.

The new sidebar in the Start menu allows users to see a preview of the phone, battery status and manage messages, calls and photos. Additionally, users will be able to resume certain apps and activities right from where they left off while using their phone.

Microsoft continues to work on improving cross-platform performance despite the discontinuation of support for the Windows subsystem for Android. Once the new feature is available to all users, it can be enabled by going to Settings → Personalisation → Start.
