Rumour: Sony has added 2001 game Ico to the list of IPs the company wants to adapt into a film
Ico is an action-adventure video game developed and released by Team Ico, a studio led by Fumito Ueda. The game was released in 2001 for the PlayStation 2. The game's protagonist, a boy named Ico, is born with horns, which causes him to be considered cursed and locked in a huge castle. He finds a way to escape and meets a mysterious girl named Yorda, who is also a prisoner of the castle. Together they try to escape, overcoming various obstacles. Some of those reading (and writing) this news are even younger than Ico, but Sony is rumoured to be planning a film adaptation of the game.
Here's What We Know
Michael Huber, a journalist from Easy Allies, said in a podcast that one of his friends was working on a pitch for an adaptation of Ico. This pitch was created because Sony included Ico in the list of IPs that the company wants to adapt. However, Huber did not reveal any further details. So whether it will be a film, series, cartoon, or something else is a mystery.
