Amazon Games is preparing to unveil its new projects, including a new instalment of Tomb Raider and an MMORPG based on The Lord of the Rings
Amazon's gaming division has big plans for the next few years. This company will be the publisher of the new Tomb Raider, a big-budget MMORPG based on "The Lord of the Rings" and the international version of the new game Throne and Liberty from NCSoft.
At the moment Amazon Games is not in a hurry to publicly disclose all its plans and release dates, but this will change soon.
Here's What We Know
Amazon Games Vice President Christoph Hartmann gave a great interview in which he revealed that the company will soon start sharing details about its games. He noted that:
It won't happen tomorrow, but it's just around the corner. Like I said, we're starting to launch games much more frequently. That's all I can tell you right now... It's all about quality. You don't want us to rush it. That's not going to work. The quality has to be on par with AAA projects, because the bar is very high.
The thesis of maximum attention to the quality of games sounds particularly encouraging, since Amazon Games' first major project, the multiplayer role-playing game New World, clearly did not meet modern standards and was heavily criticised.
Christoph Hartmann noted that Amazon Games plans to release 2-3 games a year in the future.
