All coincidences are not accidental: gamers have accused the developers of The First Descendant of plagiarising Destiny 2 and other popular shooters

New free-to-play shooter The First Descendant is very popular. Since the release the number of players has not fallen below 200 thousand, and in the Steam sales chart for the last week the shooter managed to overtake such titans of the gaming world as Counter-Strike 2 and Elden Ring.

However, many gamers have justified complaints to the developers from Nexon, and they are mainly related to aggressive monetisation and technical state of the game. But it turned out that The First Descendant can also be charged with blatant plagiarism.

Here's What We Know

Players noticed that many icons in The First Descendant are suspiciously similar to similar icons from another sci-fi online shooter - Destiny 2. They are only slightly different in minor details, exactly enough to avoid litigation.

The similarity of in-game icons isn't the only example of plagiarism, however. For example, the Different Dream gun is incredibly similar in design to the Ikelos sniper rifle from Destiny 2, and the appearance of The First Descendant characters is clearly copied from other popular shooters, not to mention the fact that the gameplay of the game is almost completely similar to Warframe.

Nexon has not commented on the plagiarism allegations at the moment, but the Palworld example has shown that it is unlikely that anyone will have enough arguments for a lawsuit.
