$100 million contract: Uruguay buys A-29 Super Tucano light turboprop attack aircraft

The Uruguayan government, after several years of searching, has chosen a new combat aircraft.

According to Infodefensa, Uruguay will buy A-29 Super Tucano aircraft from Brazil. We are talking about a contract for $100 million. It will include 6 aircraft in use.

For those not in the know
The A-29 Super Tucano is a light turboprop attack aircraft produced by Brazilian company Embraer. The first prototype of the aircraft took to the air in 1999. The A-29 was initially designed as a training aircraft, but was later modified to conduct airstrikes. The cockpit of the attack aircraft is protected by Kevlar armour. The aircraft can carry a variety of weapons.
