Nintendo has revealed the secret of the paper bag: Emio is not a Bloober Team game, but a sequel to the 35-year-old Famicom Detective Club thriller!

Nintendo has revealed the secret behind the mysterious Emio game that made a lot of noise last week. Emio was thought to be a new game from Bloober Team, but it turned out not to be the case.

Here's What We Know

The company has unveiled Emio - The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective Club!

It will be a thriller, which will be a sequel of the 35 years (!) old game - Famicom Detective Club. Its remake was released in 2021, after which the creator of the project Yoshio Sakamoto thought about creating a full-fledged sequel.

In the trailer, the developer stressed that he was personally involved in writing the plot and every dialogue to make the game as atmospheric and exciting as possible.

The new game is based on a Japanese urban legend. It tells about a mysterious man who appeared near crying girls, killed them, and left a paper bag with a drawn smile on his head.

Players will take on the role of an assistant private detective who helps the police solve the creepy case.

When We Can Expect It

Emio - The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective Club will be released on 29 August only on Nintendo Switch.
