Australia to buy 15 Bushmaster PMVs for $30 million
The Australian government has announced a new $30 million contract with Thales Australia for the purchase of 15 PMV Bushmaster armoured vehicles.

The additional Bushmasters will enhance the command and control capabilities of the Army's highly mobile artillery rocket system, accelerating the Australian Army's ability to fire long-range from the ground.
Geoff Connolly, CEO of Thales Australia and New Zealand, praised the government's support, calling it a great confidence in the Bushmaster, which is battle-tested and used by nine countries, including Ukraine.
The Minister of Defence, Pat Conroy, emphasised that the government has a positive attitude towards such defence solutions.
Thales Australia employs more than 4,300 people and supports more than 2,000 jobs through the Australian supply chain, playing a vital role in the country's defence capability on land, sea and air.

The Bushmaster PMV is an Australian armoured vehicle developed by Thales Australia and first introduced in 1998. The vehicle was put into service in 2005. The Bushmaster is highly manoeuvrable and can carry up to 10 people. Its armour provides protection against small arms, mines and improvised explosive devices. The vehicle is equipped with a diesel engine and can cover a distance of up to 800 km without refuelling. The Bushmaster has been used in various military operations, including missions in Afghanistan, Iraq and Mali.
