Samsung MX is impressed with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip for the Galaxy S25 Ultra and may now send the Exynos 2500 for refinement

Samsung may be planning to use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor in its upcoming Galaxy S25 flagship smartphones and this processor will account for about 20 per cent of the total cost of the device due to the price hike. Samsung Exynos 2500 may be cheaper, but it will only be available by summer 2025 in the Galaxy Fold 7 and Flip 7.

Here's What We Know

According to rumours, the delay is due to the fact that the Exynos 2500 processor that Samsung is developing may still not be ready for the Galaxy S25 announcement due to lack of sufficient performance. It is possible that Samsung will improve the performance of the new processor by the end of the year, but sources in the supply chain say that the company will not be able to do so in time.

Samsung's MX division was reportedly impressed with the performance of the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip they were introduced to specifically for the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Therefore, the company wants to improve the performance of the Exynos 2500 to better compete with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4.

It is reported that Samsung can only prepare enough Exynos 2500 chips ready in the first half of 2025, where they will already be used in the Galaxy Fold 7 and Flip 7 line of foldable smartphones.
