Google is updating its services and will also limit AI functionality in a bid to ensure the accuracy of US election information

Google has announced the launch of new features aimed at providing users in the US with quality and reliable information about the upcoming elections, as well as limiting AI capabilities in its services for the election period.

Here's What We Know

Google search will now make it easier to find information about candidates, voting processes, and polling places. YouTube will have dashboards with information about candidates, including their political party and links to official channels. Reminders about voting locations and times will also be shown. Google is also introducing a new icon for apps in Google Play belonging to official government agencies.

In an important move, it has introduced restrictions on the use of AI in the company's products, such as AI-generated summaries in YouTube and image creation in Gemini. These measures are aimed at preventing the spread of misleading information and ensuring transparency during the election period.
