Todd Howard loves Indiana Jones and it was he who came up with the storyline for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle
MachineGames, which is known for the latest Wolfenstein games, is working on Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. And as it turned out, game designer Todd Howard (Skyrim) came up with the "basis of the game's plot".
Here's What We Know
Screenwriter Tommy Thordsson-Bjork said that Todd Howard initiated the basis of the story, which he had been thinking about for many years. With these story seeds, the team at MachineGames was assembled.
The game's director Jörk Gustafsson recalls: "He even named his dog Indiana. He also has a huge Indiana collection in his office."
Howard talked about the Lucasfilm game before it came to MachineGames. Then he came to the team and said: "I have a little idea," which we now know as Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
The game focuses on melee combat: the protagonist is a great fist fighter and can throw enemies off balance with his whip.
The hero has a revolver, and in battle he can pick up some other types of weapons, but MachineGames did not want to make another shooter, so players will not be given too much ammunition, and the game is not focused on shootouts. Players will travel to Egypt, Thailand, and even the Himalayas to find artefacts and solve the mystery of the Great Circle.
As for the puzzles, they will be challenging, but not to the point where you have to go to YouTube to watch a walkthrough
When We Can Expect It
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will be released on 9 December on PC (Steam) and Xbox Series, including Game Pass. And in the spring of 2025, the game will be available on PlayStation 5.
