Developers from Mintrocket studio, which created the successful underwater adventure Dave the Diver, become independent

The Mintrocket studio, known for the hit game Dave the Diver, will now become independent.

According to Naver, the studio leaves the Korean publisher Nexon and becomes independent. Although the publisher will continue to invest in the team.

This move may be an attempt by Nexon to retain its talented developers, especially after several key employees left the company to start their own businesses.

Korean media also reported that if Nexon cannot prevent developers from becoming independent, it will look for business synergies through investment.

Dave the Diver is a pixelated adventure indie game that tells the story of a carefree diver named Dave. During the day, he works as a diver and fishes, at night he works in an exotic sushi bar, and in between, he explores a mysterious marine civilisation. Thanks to this, half of the game is spent exploring the underwater world, fishing, and solving secrets. And the other half of the passage will feel like an arcade simulator of a sushi bar, where the financial success of the establishment depends on your work.
