Microsoft is going back to the tried-and-true: the Xbox Series X|S will feature "Friend requests," a feature that hasn't been available since the Xbox 360 era
Microsoft is bringing back an option that was once available on the Xbox 360 console.
Here's What We Know
The company said that one of the next updates on Xbox Series X|S will include a "Friend requests" feature that will allow you to send, receive and delete requests to add friends, as well as monitor the activity of other users of the American console.
This feature has been abandoned since the Xbox One launch, replacing it with other features. But now Microsoft is going back to its old ways, as this is what gamers have been asking it to do.
At the moment, members of the Xbox Insiders programme are testing "Friend requests" and if no problems are found, then in one of the nearest updates this feature will be made available to all Xbox Series users.

You will be able to send, accept, or delete friend requests, in addition to following or being followed by others.
