Google is making the Gemini Live feature free for all Android users

Google has announced on its official Google Gemini at X account that the Gemini Live feature is now available for free for users of the Gemini app on Android. Previously, access to the feature required a subscription to Gemini Advanced.

Here's What We Know

For now, the Gemini Live feature is only available in English, but Google said in August that it plans to expand access to Gemini Live to other languages and the iOS platform "in the coming weeks."

Gemini Live allows users to communicate with the chatbot naturally, hands-free and without the need to use hot words such as "hello, Google". Users can ask clarifying questions and interrupt the chatbot's responses to ask additional questions or change the topic of conversation. Gemini Live uses generative AI to guide conversations and can help with planning the day, translating texts, and even object recognition through the camera.

Although Gemini Advanced is losing one of its key features, the paid version still offers integration with other Google services such as Gmail and the ability to create specialised chatbots.
