Google Chrome gets new security and notification features

Google has released a new update to its Chrome browser that includes several important security and privacy improvements.

Here's What's New About It

Chrome is now more active in security checks

• If you haven't visited a website for a while, the browser automatically revokes permissions you've granted it, such as access to your camera or microphone.
• The browser can detect websites that have fraudulently obtained notification permissions and automatically revoke them.
• Security scans notify you of outdated versions of your browser, insecure passwords, or other security issues.
• On computers, it keeps checking extensions for threats and makes it easy to remove them.

Easy management of notifications

Google has made it easier to unsubscribe from unwanted website notifications. The feature is currently available for Pixel devices, but will be expanded to other Android devices soon. Users can now stop notifications from specific websites with a single tap in the notification panel. This has already reduced the number of notifications by 30% on supported Pixel devices.

One-time permissions

You can now grant websites temporary access to your camera, microphone, or location. As soon as you leave the site, Chrome automatically revokes these permissions. This feature is available for both Android and desktop versions of Chrome.
