Unity has cancelled a controversial rule that required developers to pay the company every time their game was installed

At the beginning of the year, Unity introduced the Runtime Fee pricing policy. Thanks to it, developers had to pay the company every time their game, created on the Unity engine, was installed. Many people were outraged by this, but the company abandoned this policy.

Here's What We Know

The company has announced that Runtime Fee has been cancelled, which will obviously benefit developers, because they will not have to give their earned money to anyone else.

However, they will have to pay a little more. From 1 January 2025, the Unity Pro subscription price will increase by 8% to $2,200. And the Unity Enterprise subscription price will increase by 25%.
