"The best 3D platformer of the decade": Astro Bot's vividly praised trailer is unveiled, with rave reviews from critics

Sony has released a praise trailer for Team Asobi Studios' highly-acclaimed action-platformer Astro Bot, which releases on 6 September.

Critics and gamers were delighted with the game and almost unanimously named Astro Bot one of the top contenders for Game of the Year.

The praise trailer flashed such theses as "the best 3D platformer of the decade", "several hours of pure joy" and "an unequivocal success for PlayStation".

As a reminder, Astro Bot Sony's platformer Astro Bot has become the highest-rated 2024 game on Metacritic, but there's a nuance to it on Metacritic and received the highest score from our reviewer.

Astro Bot is only available on PS5, but the developers are clearly hinting that the platformer will eventually come to PC as well.

In Astro Bot players are offered 6 galaxies, 80 levels, more than 15 new abilities for unique play styles, unusual and extremely colourful location design, as well as relaxed atmosphere and light humour. Amusingly, Astro navigates planets on a DualSense flying gamepad, and uses the PS5 to fly through space.
