The company explained this decision by the difficult market conditions in the gaming industry. The CTO and CEO expressed regret over this step, emphasising the skill and dedication of those affected.

This news adds to a growing wave of layoffs in the gaming industry in 2024, with the total number now approaching 13,000. Microsoft's recent dismissal of 650 Xbox employees also contributed to this trend, bringing the total number of layoffs in the past year to 2,550.
