King Kong Warranty: Redmi has announced a new warranty programme for its upcoming Note 14 Pro and Pro+ smartphones

Xiaomi has announced a new warranty programme in China for its upcoming Redmi Note 14 Pro and Pro+ series smartphones, which has some special features.

Here's What We Know

The programme, dubbed King Kong Warranty, comes with five key benefits. Firstly, a one-year warranty against accidental water damage, which is rare for standard warranties. Second, free screen replacement within the first year if the screen is damaged. The warranty also covers the back of the smartphone for a year. The most significant benefit is the five-year warranty on the battery: if its capacity drops below 80% or there are performance issues, Xiaomi will replace it for free.

Finally, the programme includes a "365 days of replacement without repair" clause, which means that if the hardware fails within the first year, users will receive a new device instead of a repair. However, according to the source, you may need to pay an extra 595 yuan (about $85 USD) to activate this service. Full details about the Redmi Note 14 Pro series and the terms and conditions of the warranty programme will be available next week when the smartphones are announced.
