The Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor will be announced in early 2025, according to an insider
Qualcomm is planning to launch its new Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset in the first quarter of 2025. This is reported by the Yogesh Brar whistleblower.
Here's What We Know
This processor will be a simplified version of the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, which has not been officially unveiled yet. Earlier, information about the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 appeared in Xiaomi's HyperOS software under the model number SM8735, and informant Yogesh Brar confirmed that the new chipset is expected to launch in the coming months. The insider also mentioned a processor with model number SM8775, for which there is no information yet. It's quite possible that it could be an even more powerful Snapdragon 8+ Gen 4. But for now, this is just speculation.

no confirmation on SM8775 for now
Ideally they should not change the naming scheme
Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 performance is expected to be on par with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. As in the current Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip that came out in March this year, the performance is close to Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
Earlier, there were reports that Qualcomm might change the name of the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 flagship chip to Snapdragon 8 Elite, but the aforementioned insider refutes this information, saying that the name of the chipset is not expected to change. Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will be unveiled at the Snapdragon Summit 2024 event, which will be held from 21 to 23 October 2024.
