A few days ago, the card game Balatro was released on mobile devices.
Nobody doubted that it would be as popular on iOS and Android as on PC and consoles. But, as it turned out, its success surprised even the author.

On iOS and Android Balatro is very popular and even became one of the three most popular paid apps in the App Store (on the day of release it was even the first!).

Since its release in early 2024, Balatro has been one of the most popular single-player card games, it has 97% positive reviews on Steam, and the project's creator under the nickname LocalThunk has already revealed that he'll be releasing a major update in 2025 and the game will feature unexpected crossovers.
