Samsung SmartThings app update causes cyclic reboot in Galaxy S10 series smartphones, Note 10 and other older models

The latest update to Samsung's SmartThings app has caused serious problems for users of older Galaxy models like the Galaxy S10 and Note 10.

Here's What We Know

After installing SmartThings version 2.2.02.11, released on 2 October, devices started getting stuck in a reboot loop. The issue also affected the Galaxy A90 and M51 models, but did not affect the Galaxy S10 Lite and Note 10 Lite.

Users who have encountered this bug can restore their devices by performing a factory reset via the recovery menu. However, this will result in the loss of all data not saved in the cloud or other media. To avoid this issue, it is recommended to disable automatic app updates in the Galaxy Store.

This is not the first time Samsung updates have caused problems. The company was previously forced to recall the One UI 6.1.1.1 update for the Galaxy S23 Ultra due to camera degradation.
