Casio delays release of G-Shock GMC-B2100AD-2A and GMC-B2100D-1A due to cyber attack

Casio reported a large-scale cyberattack that occurred on 5 October. An unknown third party gained access to its network.

Here's What We Know

In a statement on 8 October, Casio apologised for the inconvenience to customers and assured that it was actively investigating the incident with specialists. The company has notified the relevant authorities and is taking measures to prevent repeat attacks.

The cyberattack not only affected the functioning of the services but also delayed the release of new G-Shock watch models, including the GMC-B2100AD-2A and GMC-B2100D-1A, which were due to be released on 18 October in Japan. No new release date has been announced.

The incident may also affect Casio's 50th anniversary limited edition, although the company has not yet confirmed this.

In October, Casio plans to launch new G-Shock Full Metal models: GM-B2100SD-1A and GMC-B2100ZE-1A.
