Apple won't add charger to iPad Mini 7 in Europe, but will update USB-C cable

Apple has announced that the new iPad Mini 7 will not come with a charger in the box in European countries, including the UK, France, Germany, Italy and Spain.

This decision is likely to be related to new European e-waste regulations that will come into force in 2026 and extend to some non-EU countries.

It's worth noting that the latest iPad Pro and iPad Air models introduced earlier this year also don't come with a charger in Europe. However, in the United States, Canada, Australia, Japan and Brazil, customers receive a 20W USB-C charger with their iPad Mini 7.

In addition, the iPad Mini 7 is likely to come without Apple stickers in the box, as the company intends to eliminate plastic from its packaging by next year. This trend is also seen in the new Vision Pro, iPad Pro, and iPhone 16 models. However, customers can still request stickers at Apple retail stores.

The USB-C charging cable that comes with the iPad Mini 7 now has a braided wrap for added durability.

Pre-orders for the new iPad Mini 7 have already begun, and the device is scheduled to be released on 23 October.
