Firaxis introduced Ashoka, the caring ruler of India in Sid Meier's Civilisation VII

Firaxis Games continues to introduce the national leaders available in the historical 4X-strategy Sid Meier's Civilisation VII.

The public has already been introduced to the first female pharaoh Hatshepsut, the founder of the Roman Empire Octavian Augustus, the great Chinese philosopher Confucius, Native American leader Tecumseh, and Vietnamese leader Trung Trac.

Here's What We Know

This time gamers were presented with Ashoka, the ruler of India who was the first to realise the importance of Buddhist philosophy.

Ashoka is a diplomat whose goal is to expand the borders of his state. He prefers to deal with rulers of countries whose people live in prosperity, and does not respect those who do not care for their subjects.

Under his rule, a state gains +1 point to food for every five displays of prosperity, +10% to food production during celebrations, + 1 point to goods production in cities, + 10% to damage to buildings during celebrations, and every formal declaration of war gives a start to celebrations. Ashoka will have several unique troop types and a customised starting location.

When We Can Expect It

Sid Meier's Civilisation VII will be released on 11 February on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch
