The US has allocated a new $400m military aid package to Ukraine and will provide $800m to finance the production of Ukrainian drones

US Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin visited Kyiv for the fourth time today to express support for Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression.

Here's What We Know

The head of the Pentagon did not come empty-handed and announced a new $400 million military aid package.

It will include:

  • ammunition for HIMARS missile systems;
  • 155mm and 105mm artillery ammunition, as well as 60mm, 81mm and 120mm mortar systems and their shells;
  • TOW anti-tank missiles and Javelin and AT-4 anti-tank systems;
  • M113 armoured personnel carriers;
  • satellite communications equipment, small arms and ammunition, grenades and training equipment, and demolition equipment and ammunition;
  • equipment for the protection of critical national infrastructure;
  • spare parts, support equipment, services, training and transport.

Later, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the US partners decided to allocate another $800mn to finance the production of Ukrainian drones.

This decision will not only increase the number of drones, but will also have a favourable impact on the entire military-industrial complex of the country, which will be even more important in the long run.
