Huawei Mate XT triple-folding smartphone fails crash test (video)
Huawei Mate XT has been named the "coolest phone in the world" by the popular YouTube channel JerryRigEverything thanks to its unique tri-folding design.
Here's What We Know
However, along with this innovation, the model costing around $3,000 has proven to be vulnerable to damage.
In a video created by Zach Nelson, the Mate XT is put through a series of brutal scratch, burn, and bending tests. Despite the protective features, the 10.2-inch 3K display was easily damaged by common objects such as a knife handle.
At the beginning of the video, Nelson shows the Mate XT packaging with FreeBuds 5 headphones and an 88W car charger.
Although the smartphone proved to be vulnerable to shock, it copes well with dirt and sand, which is a plus. Nevertheless, despite all its technological advantages, the smartphone failed the durability test, which made viewers doubt its reliability.
