This is how games should be made: Grand Theft Auto V sales have surpassed 205 million copies
Few games can boast the same popularity as Grand Theft Auto V.
The cult crime action game was released in 2013, made $1bn on the first day of sales, is available on three generations of devices and is the third best-selling game in history, behind only Minecraft and Tetris.
Eleven years after release, the game is still selling great, as Take-Two's report confirms.
Here's What We Know
The company reported that GTA V sales have exceeded 205 million copies so far! And since the middle of May, the figure has increased by 5 million - hence, a rather old game is bought with the intensity of 1 million copies per month - and that's fantastic!
At the same time, total sales of the entire GTA franchise exceed 435 million copies.
The head of Take-Two Strauss Zelnick in a conversation with investors also noted the importance of GTA Online for the success of the company. The game brings stable profits and remains in demand.
GTA VI is scheduled for release in autumn 2025 and there is no doubt that in time the new game from Rockstar will be able to surpass the results of the previous game.
