Gmail integrates Google Calendar into Gemini sidebar

Gmail has added Google Calendar integration to its Gemini sidebar, which already works with Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Slides. This allows Gmail users to quickly get answers to questions about calendars and create events in a dialogue mode.

Here's What We Know

For example, you can ask: "When is my next meeting next week?" or create an event by saying "Add a 30-minute event for my yoga class every Monday and Wednesday at 9:00am." The @Calendar reference is no longer required, but can be added to make the service clear.

This feature will be available gradually for users of paid packages: Gemini Business, Enterprise, Education, Education Premium, and Google One AI Premium.

Currently, the feature has some limitations, for example, you cannot add guests to events or use information from emails to create them. However, these features may appear in the future.
