Gearbox, Riot Games, Epic Games and Blizzard veterans have opened a new studio and are working on a Borderlands-style debut project

The veterans of the game industry have once again opened a new studio. This time we are talking about Ruckus Games, which brought together former employees of Gearbox Software, Riot Games, Epic Games, Monolith Productions and Blizzard.

Here's What We Know

Ruckus Games was founded back in 2021, but only now has it announced it publicly. Its CEO is Paul Sage, the creative director behind Borderlands 3 and The Elder Scrolls Online.

It is reported that with a vertical slice of the ambitious project, the studio was able to raise an investment of $19 million and is actively working on its debut game.

It will be a third-person shooter with RPG, crafting and building mechanics.

The plot of the game will tell about some invasion in the American suburbs, but who, where and for what purpose is invaded - is still unknown.

The shooter will feature co-operative mode for four players, and its main feature will be a huge choice of unusual weapons, for example, it is mentioned a toaster that shoots circular saws, and a flamethrower from a high-pressure washer (it is obvious that the studio was founded by Borderlands developers).

By the way, the creative director of the project is Scott Kester, who made a decisive contribution to the creation of recognisable art style of Borderlands.

The developers promise to listen to the wishes of gamers and in 2025 will give users the opportunity to join the first testing.

The release date of the yet unnamed game is not revealed, as well as the target platforms.
