The most powerful electric tug: Damen RSD-E Tug 2513 has entered the Guinness Book of World Records

Safeen Group's new tug RSD-E 2513 Bu Tinah has demonstrated record-breaking performance. The vessel was unveiled at Khalifa Port during the ADIPEC energy conference.

Here's What We Know

The new RSD-E Tug 2513 is an electric version of the popular RSD Tug 2513 diesel tug. Thanks to its electric propulsion system, the tug offers zero emissions, making it optimal for operation in environmentally sensitive areas where oil or fuel spills can cause serious damage.

However, environmental friendliness is not the only feature of the new tug. RSD-E Tug 2513 Bu Tinah has officially become a Guinness World Records holder, demonstrating a towing capacity of 78.2 tonnes.

The vessel is capable of a minimum of two towing operations on a single charge and can be charged on a DC marine fast charger in just two hours.
