The Microsoft 365 Companions app will allow you to display important data with a single click on the Windows taskbar

At the Microsoft Ignite 2024 conference, Microsoft announced a new Microsoft 365 Companions feature for Windows 11.

The feature integrates important data such as contacts, files and calendar events directly into the Windows 11 taskbar, providing quick access to them. According to Windows chief Pavan Davuluri, users will be able to access graphical data in a single click.

The new feature will be similar to the existing Phone Link app interface in the Start menu, which was introduced in the Windows 11 24H2 update. It will also offer quick one-click access to smartphone information.

Microsoft 365 Companions will allow users to easily manage their contacts, files and calendar events without opening separate apps. This innovation aims to improve user experience and efficiency by giving users the ability to quickly find and use the information they need right from the taskbar.

It is currently unknown whether third-party app developers will be able to use these Microsoft 365 Companions features to integrate their apps into the taskbar.
