Additional Dutch F-16s arrive in Romania to train Ukrainian pilots, among others

Dutch F-16 fighter jets arrived at the training centre at the Fetesti air base in Romania to train pilots.

Here's What We Know

The Dutch Ministry of Defence has announced the delivery of the last two of the 18 promised F-16 fighter jets to a European training centre for Romanian and Ukrainian pilots.

The centre is located at the Fătăesti air base in Romania and was established, in part, at the initiative of the Netherlands.

The first five aircraft were delivered to the centre last November, and a year after its foundation, the school has a full set of aircraft from the Netherlands.

The Netherlands, together with Denmark and the United States, has taken a leading role in training Ukrainian pilots on the F-16 and supplying these fighters through an international coalition. In total, the Netherlands will provide 24 combat aircraft to Ukraine.

The first of these were delivered in October this year, and the rest will be delivered in the coming months to strengthen Ukraine's defence capabilities in the war against Russia.
