We wrote that more than 100 thousand stalkers explored the Zone in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 on the day of release, but how big an achievement is it?

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl by Ukrainian studio GSC Game World made a great debut on Steam, entering the top ten most popular games on the platform on the day of release. At the peak, the number of simultaneous players reached 113 thousand, which significantly exceeds the figures of the previous instalments of the series, including S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Shadow of Chernobyl (2007).
In addition to Steam, the game was released on Xbox Series X|S and is available on Game Pass, although the exact number of players on these platforms is not disclosed.
The project's popularity is expected to grow during the first weekend after the release.
And despite reports of technical flaws, the game has received very positive user reviews on Steam.
