NVIDIA warns of a possible shortage of new graphics cards in 2025

NVIDIA has announced the likelihood of a shortage of next-generation RTX 50-series graphics cards, which could begin in 2025.

Here's What We Know

This is because a significant portion of the new Blackwell GPUs will be aimed at meeting demand from companies involved in high-performance AI applications. As a result, the number of graphics cards available to gamers may be limited, leading to higher prices for current models.

NVIDIA faced a similar situation a few years ago, when a shortage of graphics cards caused prices to skyrocket and made them difficult to acquire. In a recent earnings report, the company said it expects revenue to decline in the fourth quarter due to supply constraints. This could affect the prices of current generation graphics cards, especially ahead of the festive season.

However, NVIDIA assures that the shortages may be temporary and urges customers to be patient. The company expects to ramp up production in early 2025, which should stabilise prices. Nevertheless, gamers are advised to prepare for a possible price hike and plan their graphics card purchases in advance.
