The US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has launched an investigation into Uber One, a subscription service that offers discounts on rides and deliveries.

Here's What We Know

Particular attention is being paid to the registration and cancellation processes.

Uber states, 'the process of cancelling subscriptions is compliant with the law, and most users complete it in 20 seconds. Feedback from users indicates that cancelling a subscription is much more difficult than signing up, as the system requires several steps that confuse users.

Users complain, 'Uber One cancellation' is designed to make it difficult to cancel the service. The FTC is now investigating whether this practice is legal.

This case complements the FTC's efforts to combat fraudulent schemes in tech services and increase consumer protection.
