Publisher Electronic Arts has high hopes for the new part of Battlefield series and not only allocated a huge budget for its development, but also sent four studios for its creation: DICE, EA Motive, Ripple Effect and British company Criterion Games. The last of the mentioned studios has perfectly established itself as the author of first-class races, but many gamers did not understand: how Criterion with its specific experience will help in the development of an online shooter.

Today the situation started to become clearer.

Here's What We Know

Vice-President of DICE studio Rebecca Coutaz will also head the British Criterion. This decision is made to increase the coordination of work, while both studios will continue to work independently of each other.

Rebecca Coutaz has been working in the game industry since 1995 and is very familiar with all the nuances of production. As part of DICE, she was involved in the development of many Battlefield titles and will be able to utilise Criterion Games' resources to the best of her ability.

Since joining DICE in 2021, I've had the pleasure of working with an extremely talented and diverse team. I am incredibly honoured to take on this expanded leadership role, shaping the future of two iconic studios, each with their own unique and rich history.

The release date and even the name of the new Battlefield remains unknown, but it is rumoured that the developers will launch a platform for public testing of the shooter in 2025.
