WhatsApp is working on a new feature that will allow users to generate QR codes to promote their channels.

Here's What We Know

The feature is already available to beta testers on Android starting with version 2.24.25.7. It was previously spotted in version 2.24.22.20, but was available to a limited number of users then. Now, it is being widely deployed among beta testers and is likely to be available in the stable version of the app soon.

WhatsApp Channels, launched over a year ago, allows users with large audiences to share news and updates. While the feature was initially targeted at celebrities and big brands, anyone can now create a channel. Currently, channels can be promoted through URLs, but with the advent of QR codes, the process will become easier and more convenient.

It's also worth noting that WhatsApp recently added several new features, including improvements to media sharing and the ability to transcribe voice messages, making November 2024 a busy month for the app.
