The Pixel Troubleshooting app now has the ability to view real-time temperature readings for Pixel 6-9 devices. to access this feature, go to Settings > Battery > Battery diagnostics > Phone is getting very hot.

Here's What We Know

The update shows real-time temperature readings with four colour-coded labels: "Cold", "Normal", "Warm", and "Elevated", along with a description for each. These notifications range from warnings of a possible shutdown due to low temperature to alerts about performance degradation and paused charging when the phone is too warm.

Google uses multiple internal sensors to assess the phone's temperature and offers tips to help cool it down, such as providing airflow, closing power-hungry apps, or removing covers that trap heat.

The feature is available on Pixel 6, 7, 8 and 9 devices running Android 15 or later. The update is being rolled out via the Play Store and may require users to directly visit the listing to access it.
