Chris Evans returns to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Avengers: Doomsday, which will also feature Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom. Although the details of his participation have not yet been revealed, Evans will be involved in the project, which is scheduled for release on 1 May 2026.

Here's What We Know

After completing his role as Steve Rogers in Avengers: Endgame in 2019, Evans appeared in Deadpool and Wolverine, but not as Captain America, but as Johnny Storm from the Fantastic Four films.

Evans' return to the MCU has long been discussed by fans, but Marvel has not yet commented on the news. Interestingly, his character at the end of Avengers: Endgame was an old man, but the possibility of a return in various forms remains open, especially given that Downey Jr. is returning as Doctor Strange.

Evans last played Captain America in 2019, and the new Captain America in the MCU is Anthony Mackie, who will appear in the Captain America film: A Brave New World, which is due out on 14 February 2025.

Evans first appeared as a super soldier in Captain America: The First Avenger in 2011 and has reprised the role in several other films in the series.
