US is training Ukrainian brigade in Germany - Zelenskyy
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the United States of America is training and equipping a new brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Germany.

"Also now in Europe, namely in Germany, the American side is preparing a Ukrainian brigade. And this is important," Zelenskyy said.
In addition, he said that negotiations with France are currently underway to train a second brigade in France, following the example of the 155th Mechanised Brigade named after Anna Kyivska.
The president also announced talks on joint manning of one Ukrainian brigade by the Nordic and Baltic countries.

It is worth noting that France was the first country to commit to equipping and training an entire Ukrainian brigade, the 155th Anna Mechanised Brigade. It became known in early October 2024 that this brigade was being trained in France. This was confirmed by President Emmanuel Macron. The unit was equipped with VAB armoured personnel carriers, AMX-10RC armoured fighting vehicles, CAESAR self-propelled artillery systems, Mistral man-portable air defence systems and Milan anti-tank guns.
In October, Volodymyr Zelenskyy began negotiations with the French government to equip another army brigade with French weapons as part of military assistance.
In addition, in September 2024, the Northern Brigade project was created, under which the Nordic states offered to train one Ukrainian battalion each to eventually form another brigade.
