Epic Games has agreed to refund Fortnite players $245 million for in-game purchases made between January 2017 and September 2022. The decision follows a fine imposed by the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) in 2022.

Here's What We Know

Players who accidentally made purchases, parents who have encountered unauthorised spending by their children, and those whose accounts have been blocked following complaints can apply for a refund. This is done by filling out an application form on a dedicated website by 10 January 2025, indicating the estimated amount of spending and an Epic Games ID.

In the first round of refunds, 600,000 players received about $114 each. The new amount will depend on the number of next submissions in the next round. It is reported that the refund process will not affect existing Fortnite accounts or in-game content.
