Developers of Catly game about photorealistic cats deny rumours about the use of AI, blockchain, and NFT
During The Game Awards 2024 , Catly, a virtual pet simulator with photorealistic cats, was presented. After the announcement, there were speculations that the game's trailer was created with the help of generative artificial intelligence, and the game itself could use blockchain technologies and NFTs.
Here's What We Know
The game developer, SuperAuthenti, has officially stated that no generative AI was used in the process of creating the trailer and the game itself. A company representative said: "We are very surprised by such assumptions. In our opinion, there are no AI tools capable of creating such a video." Besides, SuperAuthenti provided IGN with a version of the trailer with intermediate stages of development that confirmed the absence of AI in production.
However, this trailer was not published publicly.
The developers also denied rumours about the integration of blockchain technologies and NFTs into the game. A company representative emphasised: "Our company and project have never used blockchain technologies or NFTs. We have not issued any cryptocurrencies or NFTs and do not own them."
Catly is positioned as a game for cat lovers, offering an open world with photorealistic cats and a variety of activities. The game is scheduled for release in 2025 on Steam, Nintendo Switch, and Apple Watch.
