Elon Musk, billionaire and founder of SpaceX, has made a bold prediction about when artificial intelligence will become smarter than all humans combined.

Here's What We Know

According to Musk, the development of AI is happening at an incredible speed, and humanity does not have time to realise the scale of these changes. Musk emphasised that by the end of 2025, AI will surpass the intelligence of any human, and by 2027-2028, possibly all humans. The probability that by 2030 AI will surpass the intelligence of all humans combined, in his opinion, is about 100 per cent.

Former OpenAI contributor Leopold Aschenbrenner also suggests that AI may ultimately do more harm to humanity than good. He predicts that by 2027, there will be a general artificial intelligence (AGI) that compares to human intelligence, which could lead to negative consequences.

These predictions are a serious warning about the possible consequences of AI development. It is hoped that companies like OpenAI and Google are already working on how to ensure that AI is used safely and ethically so that it serves to benefit humanity rather than becoming a threat to it.
