Sam Lake assures that the shared world for Remeddy Connected Universe games is "just beginning"
Over the past few years, with Control, Alan Wake 2, and DLC, Remedy Entertainment has created the Remedy Connected Universe, a shared world for its projects. With Control 2 in development and Alan Wake's future looking secure, Remedy intends to continue to expand this shared universe. In a recent interview with IGN, creative director and writer Sam Lake emphasised the ongoing nature of the universe.
Here's What We Know
When asked about the potential ending of the overarching story, Lake explained that the shared universe is "just beginning", so it's too early to discuss conclusions:
"I feel we are just getting started, so I feel it’s too early to start talking about an endgame. I love tying these things together. I love making it deeper and expanding on the lore. It really feels like this kind of opportunity to take these strands that we have put there, expand, and entertain different ideas. It feels really exciting.".
Lake also noted that while Remedy aims to keep each game standalone, fans of the larger universe will always have expanded lore.
Remedy is currently working on Control 2 and the multiplayer expansion FBC: Firebreak, as well as reworking Max Payne 1 and 2, although the latter is not part of the Remedy Connected Universe.
