Inthe summer of 2024, it was revealed that the TV series based on the acclaimed game Horizon Zero Dawn, which was to be released on the streaming service Netflix, was cancelled. This was primarily due to the toxic and manipulative behaviour of showrunner Steve Blackman, but there were other difficulties as well.

However, today it has been revealed that fans of Sony's famous post-apocalyptic action film will not be left without a film adaptation.

Here's What We Know

During the biggest technology exhibition CES 2025, Sony announced that Columbia Pictures and PlayStation Productions are currently in the early stages of working on a film based on Horizon Zero Dawn.

So far, the company has not revealed any details: neither the release date, nor the cast, nor the directors and producers are known, but fans of the Horizon universe can not help but be excited by the fact that the game will still get a film adaptation.

Recall, the events of Horizon Zero Dawn unfold in the world of the distant future, in which the Earth has experienced a global catastrophe, humanity has fallen to a tribal level of development, and huge beast-like robots roam the planet.

The game was released in 2017 and is currently available on PC and PlayStation 4 and 5.
