Honda has announced a new ASIMO operating system for 0 series cars
If your birth year begins with 19xx, you probably remember the cute humanoid robot ASIMO introduced at CES 2000. But this time around, Honda has given the name ASIMO not to a robot, but to its new automotive operating system that will debut in Honda's 0 Series electric cars. The announcement of the promising OS was made during the CES 2025 show in Las Vegas.
Here's What We Know
The ASIMO robot was an icon in the field of robotics from the 2000s to the 2010s and remains a favourite of people around the world to this day. Honda hopes that the 0 Series electric cars will surprise and inspire people around the world, just as the ASIMO robot once did. This will be helped in part by a new operating system.
The ASIMO OS features integrated control of electronic control units (ECUs) for vehicle systems such as automated driving/advanced driver assistance systems (AD/ADAS) and in-vehicle infotainment (IVI).

With the ASIMO OS-based car's software constantly updated via wireless updates (OTAs), even after the car is purchased, the features and services will be continuously upgraded according to the preferences and needs of each individual user. The manufacturer claims that these OTA updates will not only affect the user interface (which the company has not yet shown), but also the dynamic performance of the vehicles.
Honda plans to install ASIMO OS on all Honda 0 Series models, including the production versions of the Honda 0 SUV and Honda 0 Saloon.
